SSC2 0003 Stein Ilana Headshot 1

Ilana Stein

Ilana Stein, with degrees in Nature Conservation and English, and a Master's in Jewish Education, holds a unique role blending her passions. She lectures on Tanach, Jewish thought, and environmental topics at the Academy of Jewish Thought and Learning in South Africa and various Jewish organizations, promoting the integration of Torah and environmental ethics.

Ilana's background as a game ranger enriches her teachings, offering a Jewish perspective on the wonders of the natural world. She believes environmental stewardship is a Jewish value, evident in her courses like "Ethics of Eden" and "Back to Eden," which combine Jewish philosophy and environmental ethics. Ilana, a Sefaria Word-by-Word Fellow, is currently authoring a book on this important subject.
