The Rabbi Sacks Global Day of Learning 2026
Marking the passing of Rabbi Sacks with an annual day of learning in his memory.
20 Marcheshvan 5787 (31 October 2026)
“Where what we want to do meets what needs to be done, that is where God wants us to be.” - Rabbi Sacks
Each year, communities and schools around the world mark Rabbi Sacks’ yahrzeit by coming together to learn, reflect and honour his memory.
For Rabbi Sacks’ sixth yahrzeit, on 20 Marcheshvan 5787 (31 October 2026), we invite you to take part with your community, school, family or friends, and to explore Rabbi Sacks’ timeless wisdom in a way that is meaningful to you. You might host a speaker, study one of his works, use our educational resources, or dedicate learning in his memory.
Since Rabbi Sacks’ passing, we have created a wide range of learning sheets, lesson plans, activities and other resources for the Rabbi Sacks Global Day of Learning. These remain available [here] and can be used to create a programme suited to your interests, setting and community.
We are also creating a new resource for schools to use this year. To receive it when it is ready, please complete the form [here].
However you choose to participate, we hope the day will offer an opportunity to engage with Rabbi Sacks’ teachings and carry his ideas forward.
Educational materials for the 2026 Global Day of Learning are expected to be available by October 2026. Please complete our registration form to receive the resources when they are ready.
May the soul of Rabbi Sacks be elevated in merit of the learning we will do in his memory.
