The Rabbi Sacks Legacy releases a new video and educational resource in honour of Israel’s 75th anniversary
Ahead of Israel’s 75th anniversary, The Rabbi Sacks Legacy has released a new video, “Israel: Home of Hope,” combining captivating animation with Rabbi Sacks’ distinctive voice, telling the extraordinary and inspiring story of the State of Israel.
The new video – narrated by Rabbi Sacks using audio recorded before his passing – explores the connection between Ezekiel’s Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones and the creation of the State of Israel, reflecting the role of hope in Jewish history, especially in the modern period that led to the creation of the State of Israel.
An educational resource has been developed to accompany the video, designed for middle and high school students to use in classrooms or at home.
To celebrate the milestone anniversary, The Rabbi Sacks Legacy has also re-released “Israel: Home of Hope,” a 46-track tribute of music and words that was originally created for Israel’s 60th anniversary. The album is now available digitally here.
Joanna Benarroch, Chief Executive of The Rabbi Sacks Legacy, said:
“Rabbi Sacks was well known for his advocacy and passion for the State of Israel, which also featured prominently in his writings. We are thrilled to release Rabbi Sacks’ album for the second time, and together with the new animation and educational material, we hope it will engage and inspire people worldwide.”
When this album was first released in 2008, Rabbi Sacks said:
“Israel is the Jewish home of hope, the place where our people were born, and where, after the longest exile ever endured by a people, it was reborn in our time. May these words and music open our minds and lift our hearts to the miracle of a land rebuilt, a people re-born, a promise fulfilled, a destiny regained.”
