Dr. Emma Laskin

Dr. Emma Laskin, born and raised on NYC’s Upper East Side, studied art history at Harvard before working as a research assistant for Professor Howard Gardner, which deepened her understanding of the human brain. Driven by her interest in storytelling and the human spirit, she earned her M.D. from Weill Cornell in 1999 and completed psychiatry training in 2004. Emma now practices privately in Manhasset, New York, and is an Associate Attending and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at NYU Long Island.

Active in Jewish community organizations, Emma has served on the boards of the Great Neck Synagogue and North Shore Hebrew Academy and is involved with Shaare Zedek Hospital’s Children’s Champions, the Lone Soldier Center in Jerusalem, the Friends of the IDF, AIPAC, Tzohar, Aish, and the One Israel Fund.

Emma and her husband, Bart Baum, have lived in Great Neck for 25 years and have three children. They frequently visit Israel, spending time in Haifa and nearby areas.
