Rabbi Andrew Markowitz

Rabbi Andrew Markowitz has served as rabbi of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn, New Jersey since 2019, having previously served as assistant and associate rabbi from 2010. He received semicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, after which he was a fellow of the Beren Kollel Elyon. Additionally, Rabbi Markowitz was a fellow of the Gruss Kollel in Jerusalem, where he also trained with Rav Gideon Weitzman of Machon Puah and received additional semicha with a focus on fertility and halacha.
Rabbi Markowitz teaches Machshava and Halacha at Naaleh High School for Girls and has taught across a range of middle and high school settings. He is a member of the Rabbinical Council of America and serves on its executive board, and is president of the Rabbinical Council of Bergen County.
