New Shavuot Resources
Share
We are excited to present two new resources for Shavuot, prepared by two members of the inaugural cohort of Sacks Scholars, Dr. Mijal Bitton and Michael Rainsbury.
Both learning guides have been designed for those seeking to engage with the teachings of Rabbi Sacks during Tikkun Leil Shavuot, the night of Jewish learning on Shavuot when we commemorate the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.
- Mijal has prepared a Shavuot Reader, "What Ties Us To Judaism?", a thoughtfully curated collection of sources and guiding questions on notions of covenant.
- Michael has developed a study guide aimed at students and teenagers, exploring Rabbi Sacks’ profound answers to the question: What obligates us to keep the Torah?
The materials are available in English, Hebrew, French, German and Spanish and can be downloaded from www.rabbisacks.org/shavuot-resources and printed ahead of Shavuot, which begins this Thursday evening. They include step-by-step prompts to facilitate group or individual learning, allowing everyone to explore the deeper significance of the festival.
The new Shavuot Resources page also contains materials produced in previous years, and we hope the number of resources will continue to grow as we continue to develop more Tikkun Leil resources, year on year.
