New Pesach Seder Activity – The Scavenger Hunt

Today the Rabbi Sacks Legacy team has unveiled a new scavenger hunt activity for Seder night.

Created and shared with schools, communities and educators around the world, the free-to-download and easy-to-use scavenger hunt is a creative way for families to celebrate the Pesach holiday while exploring its deeper meanings and significance.

A number of thought-provoking essays have long been a celebrated feature of the Jonathan Sacks Haggadah, currently available with a 35% discount from Koren Publishers. One such essay is entitled 'The Missing Fifth’.

"Just as an x-ray can reveal an earlier painting beneath the surface of a later one, so beneath the surface of the Haggadah there is another pattern to be discerned," writes Rabbi Sacks in this piece, and he then proceeds to explore the significance of the number 4 throughout the Pesach Seder, while also illuminating the idea of a hidden fifth element within each set.

This new activity, inspired by The Missing Fifth essay, brings some of the insights from the Haggada essay to new audiences. Offering 10 challenges and questions, as well as an answer key, the activity is free to download, and easy to prepare.
