A Fresh Way to Count the Omer, and Learn Along the Way
A new social media campaign featuring 49 posts counting up from Pesach to Shavuot has been launched by The Rabbi Sacks Legacy, featuring a series of thought-provoking questions and answers.
Rabbi Sacks was known for his ability to explain complex ideas in a way that was accessible to people of all backgrounds. The new Omer posts – which will appear as daily graphics on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter – will feature questions covering a range of topics, including Jewish identity, Israel, the Jewish festivals, the role of religion in society, faith, and the Holocaust. Rabbi Sacks’ answers, which all appear on The Rabbi Sacks Legacy website, will be linked from each of the posts.
The Omer period, a time of introspection and growth, begins on the second night of Pesach, the festival when questions are particularly encouraged. We hope these daily posts will provide a meaningful and engaging way for people to connect with the wisdom of Rabbi Sacks through questions and answers, as we embark upon the march towards Shavuot.
