The Leadership series was the first time Rabbi Sacks focuses a year of Covenant & Conversation essays on a particular unifying theme. First written in 2013-2014, with the aim that the "parashat hashavua" Covenant & Conversation essays would examine the Lessons in Leadership we can find within the weekly parsha, this series by Rabbi Sacks was originally written for the Hebrew year 5774.
After Rabbi Sacks passed away in 2020, we found there was a longing for his Covenant & Conversation essays to be distributed without pause, and so we decided to continue sharing his weekly thoughts. Which is why, in the year 5781 (September 2020-September 2021) we repeated the full 5774 Leadeship series of essays (also edited by Rabbi Sacks into a book published by Koren, similarly titled Lessons in Leadership).
