Jonathan Cannon

Jonathan Cannon is an accomplished educational leader and mentor with over 35 years of experience in Jewish day schools, including 23 years as a Head of School, most recently at Ramaz School in New York City.

Jonathan’s impact extends far beyond the schools he has led in New York, Washington DC, and Hong Kong. For over a decade, he partnered with the Avi Chai Foundation and Legacy Heritage Fund to direct a flagship leadership program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As a sought-after consultant, he has worked with more than 60 schools to guide educational innovation and support transitions in leadership.

A respected speaker and writer, Jonathan is known for championing innovation in Jewish education and preparing students for the complex world they’ll inherit. Among his many recognitions, he is especially proud to have received the inaugural Chief Rabbi’s Award for Educational Excellence, presented by Rabbi Sacks.

Jonathan lives in Maryland with his wife Gilly and their family.
