In July 2013, Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks was a guest on the flagship BBC Radio programme, ‘Private Passions’.

In the programme, which is focused around music, the Chief Rabbi looked back at his life and career and talked about both the joyous and the sad music which has accompanied him during his time in office.

Talking about music’s power to touch the soul, the Chief Rabbi’s choices ranged from Tchaikovsky and Beethoven to Paul Simon and The Shawshank Redemption.
